Scripture: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” — Isaiah 43:2
There are moments in life when the weight feels unbearable—when you’re caring for someone who is unwell, sitting beside them in the quiet hours of the night, praying for a miracle, holding on to hope that seems to flicker.
You find yourself wondering, “God, where are You? Why does this feel so lonely?”
It’s in those moments that heaven feels silent. The prayers seem unanswered. The journey feels endless.
But, God has not left you. He is not absent in the pain; He is present in ways that often go unseen.
We sometimes think that if God were with us, things would be easy.
But God never promised us a life without storms—He promised His presence in the storm.
Remember the story in Mark 4:35-41:
Yeshua and His disciples were crossing the lake when a furious storm broke out. The waves crashed over the boat, and the disciples panicked, crying out, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
And Yeshua—who had been sleeping through the chaos—stood and rebuked the wind: “Peace, be still.”
The sea grew calm.
What’s powerful here isn’t just that Yeshua calmed the storm—it’s that He was with them in it.
God doesn’t always take away the storm immediately—but He sits beside you in the boat until it passes.
When you care for someone who is ill, you embody the love of God in a sacred way.
Every cup of water, every gentle word, every sleepless night spent watching over them—these are acts of holy love.
You are walking the path Yeshua spoke of in Matthew 25:40:
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
God sees you.
He sees the exhaustion, the tears you hide, the faith you keep holding on to.
And though it may feel like you are walking through darkness, you are walking through holy ground—because love is being perfected in your endurance.
From Breaking Point to Breakthrough
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul writes,
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Sometimes we don’t experience God’s power until we come to the end of our own.
When you have no more words left to pray, no more strength left to carry on, that’s when grace steps in.
The same God who sustained Elijah when he sat under the broom tree saying, “It is enough, Lord” (1 Kings 19:4), will sustain you too.
He sent an angel to feed Elijah and told him, “The journey is too much for you.”
God knows your limits—and He provides strength beyond them.
Even when you can’t see it, God is working behind the scenes—healing hearts, deepening faith, shaping purpose.
 As Romans 8:28 reminds us,
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Your story is not over.
This chapter may be painful, but it is not permanent.
You are being refined, not destroyed.
One day you’ll look back and say, “God was there all along.”
Lord, in our weakness, be our strength.
In our waiting, be our peace.
In our sorrow, be our comfort.
Teach us to see Your hand even when we cannot trace it.
Remind us that You are faithful, even in the valley.
Give rest to every weary soul who serves in love.
 Amen.
